Gallery assistant internship

Almine Rech opened her first gallery in Paris with a partner in November 1989, featuring an exhibition of James Turrell’s Space Division work. In April 1997, the eponymous gallery was officially founded. Since then, Almine Rech has grown into an internationally recognized gallery known for its commitment to minimal, perceptual, and conceptual practices. Early collaborations with James Turrell, John McCracken, and Joseph Kosuth established its reputation for rigor and independence.

Almine Rech is looking for interns. Starting right away.
Minimum duration: three months.
The intern will be present in the gallery from Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 7pm.
FR, EN requested. NL a plus.

Duties:

  • Customer service
  • Telephone reception
  • RESEARCH: Manage and update artist archives: documentation and works
  • Updating database and customer contacts
  • Help in preparing exhibitions and fairs: research, creation of files
  • Occasional assistance with press relations
  • Occasional assistance with administrative tasks
  • ATTENDING EVENTS : On-call during exhibition openings

Active support for the Almine Rech Editions team, i.e.:

  • Preparing parcels for dispatch
  • Inform visitors/customers and sell directly in the shop (books, editions, goodies)
  • Tidying up sales area and stock
  • Updating inventories

  • Excellent written and oral expression skills
  • Rigorous work ethic
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • First experience in an art gallery not required
