Nino Mier Gallery offers an immersive internship program that provides valuable hands-on experience in arts management and an in-depth understanding of gallery operations. Interns will have the chance to work closely with the director, gallery manager and artists, gaining a comprehensive view of gallery administration. Key areas of exposure include exhibition installation, marketing and press relations, general office administration, art handling, audience engagement, program development, and event coordination.

During exhibition installations, interns will balance supporting the setup process with assisting in various administrative tasks. When the gallery is open, interns will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, taking on the vital role of engaging with the public and representing the gallery.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Education: BA or MA in Arts (or related field)
  • Languages: English and French or Dutch
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to contemporary visual arts
  • Reliable, punctual and driven
  • Proactive, able to work independently
  • Basic computer skills (experience with Mac iOS and Adobe Suite is desirable)

GALLERY ASSISTANT TASKS

  • Front desk duties: welcoming visitors, accepting shipments and deliveries
  • Collect press on artists, assist with communication and mailing campaigns
  • Updating databases (Artlogic), updating exhibitions archive
  • Assist gallery manager in drafting artist-related dossiers, press releases, CV/Bio,…
  • Assist gallery manager in organisation of vernissages and exhibitions
  • General upkeep and office management of the gallery space

Preferred start date: September 1st (duration of internship is flexible, but preferably at least 3 months)
